It happened over night. I seem to have lost strength in the muscles in my neck. I have had pain in my neck for many years, but this is worse, it has been about 5months now. I have been treated with prolia in the past. Dr suggests painkillers, but has not given a diagnosis as such. Am waiting for physiotherapy.. Any ideas about why and what I can do to help myself. I also have numbness in my feet and lower back pain. I have a regrowth of a pituitary tumour. (First had surgery 22yrs ago.
I just saw this. The low back pain and feet numbness could be related with nerve trapping from disc issues or spinal nerve issues. Sounds like something to do with trapezius muscles for neck but I may… read more

I'm afraid of doing anything except walking and swimming for fear of hurting myself, but I get bored with these. My osteoporosis is mild in my spine and moderate in my hips. I've had two crush fractures. My back can be extremely painful. I've tried Pilates and yoga, but some of the excersises really hurt my upper back, so I end up not doing anything! I used to love cycling, but I've lost all my confidence and can't balance anymore as I'm so scared of falling off.
Try chair yoga.
My mother took Fosamax for over 8 years and still broke her hip. I have friends who have tried the shots and still broken bones. What have you found the most effective treatment for osteoporosis? I am also trying the exercise program by Margaret Martin. I already exercise daily and this helps me focus on a program particular to osteoporosis; including tips on what not to do. I have also heard that your diet is also a factor? Has anyone found this to be true? Thanks so much.
Isn't it odd that almost all the doctors are ready to handout prescription medications for anything that is wrong with us, INSTEAD of telling us that we must eat better and get the proper exercise or physical therapy to help our conditions??? I wish we had good and caring doctors who followed the oath they made, when they became a doctor.
so true Pam!
I have been dealing with osteoporosis for many years now .... I did have my ankle x-rayed a while back . Nothing showed ... I get this intense pain periodically .... It is like a red hot rod inside the flat of my heel ... Burning , burning . Not nice ... Anyone had problems with this . Thank you for your time ... 😊😊
I get the burning pain in the left ankle and it swell,s and I was told when my back is out the ankle will swell.
I have osteopenia and was prescribed Prolia. Decided to seek another opinion and referred to an exercise physiologist. Undertaking exercise program In an attempt to stop progression. Has anyone else tried this and how successful was it?
Yes, Lorraine, i did. I was diagnosed with osteopenia and immediately increased my daily walking which is obviously a weight bearing exercise. The result of my next DEXA scan was normal. Really.
Wow what a brave lady.
