Isn't It Odd That Almost All The Doctors Are Ready To Handout Prescription Medications For Anything That Is Wrong With Us?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Isn't it odd that almost all the doctors are ready to handout prescription medications for anything that is wrong with us, INSTEAD of telling us that we must eat better and get the proper exercise or physical therapy to help our conditions??? I wish we had good and caring doctors who followed the oath they made, when they became a doctor.

Bone Density and Osteoporosis Read Article...

I agree, so frustrating. Doctors have little to no education in nutrition. I have had bone density issues since I was 48. Was on Fosamax and one other oral drug that caused stomach issues, therefore prescribed anti-reflux medication which worsens your osteoporosis. At 62 it progressed to osteoporosis. Every doctor I went to wanted to put me on polia. After much research and reading on studies on side effects made the decision to do everything I could naturally. Exercise (walking weightlifting, Pilates, and yoga ) and eating a healthier diet including supplements of vitamin D, K2. Three foods that have been proven in university studies to help bone are prunes, green kiwi and natto. In reading and researching to do anything I can my numbers have stabilized. My success rate is much better than those taking prolia with out the side effects and being locked into a drug for the rest of my life. We all need to do what’s right for us, education is the best tool never stop reading. According to the CDC data, 13.1% of females aged 50–64 years had osteoporosis in 2017–2018. This figure increased to 27.1% for females aged 65 and above. Which creates a huge audience for marketing all kinds of drugs and gimics

Totally Agree Pam. I recently had my bone density test (last one was 2020) and while I don't have the exact numbers, I was told that my bone density has improved. I still have Osteoporosis, but the doctor's comment was "keep doing what you are doing." I am not on any Osteo meds.

I totally agree. I have friends that are satisfied with taking drugs and having surgeries done to help whatever their health conditions are, and just being around these friends I can see they eat a very unhealthy diet and are way out of their healthy weight range. However, they don't want my advice, so I just do my best to keep my mouth shut. And I blame the doctors for their silence and hurry to proscribe drugs, not to mention ridiculing dietary solutions.

With you on that one Pam. Unfortunately GP practice's are nothing but a business and big pharma help them make their money😔

I also hate it when they don't give you the time to explain what's wrong with you and dish out medication and say its arthritis and just keep moving.
