Vitamin K2
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi! My doc has me on Boniva (from which I'm on withdrawal due to side effects) and 600iu calcium + 800iu D3 twice daily. I ALSO take a WEEKLY dose of 50,000mg vitamin D3. My Question is, what about vitamin K2? My reading suggests a need for K2 in order to direct the calcium from soft tissue to the bones. Does anyone else include K2 in their supplement regimen and, if so, how much do you take?

I take K2 as I was told it directs Calcium to the bones and out of blood stream. My hygienist asked me what supplements I was on and had already guessed that I was on K2 because I had very little plaque build up! It is encouraging to me that she noticed and that calcium is being directed to where it needs to be.

I take vitamin K, which in turn 600 mgs calcium which K2 delivers calcium through out my body as to places its needed, then potassium , magnesium our body needs and I find I don't have the cramps I would get if not enough in My body, and then Vitafusion Women's Multivitamin Daily which I get my Energy and Bone and Immune support which consists of out vitamins, A, C, D, E, Niacin ,Folate, B12, sodium , small amount of potassium and Zinc, very small amount of calcium but no enough to overload your system, its very little, Biotin and a very small of some indegredients that are not harmful. At the end of day if you feel you didn't get enough calcium and one vitafusion gummy.. I did a lot of research on my own, hours actually because we must not overload our systems. I spent $122.00 on 3 bottles of algacal because we are so overwhelmed by all the information out there. You have to take 4 capsules a day of that. I found no change, so I went back to the regium of supplements I was taking, listed above. The key I found and read many times, buy all these supplements separate, except the Vitafusion Gummies because you get all your B vitamins, your A, C, D% E and what I listed above i these Gummies, I brought all others separate and all were at Walmart at most $3.00 , were Spring Valley. The most expensive was the vitamin K, it was right at $9.00, if you cant, or shall I say if I could not find it last time I got K2 but that vitamin is like the first cog in the the process for all the other's to do there job. What's important to note Calcium Carbonate , and have heard, read by those in the profession is not doing anything for our bodies. Please research Calcium Hydroxide if I spelled that correctly, that is the calcium we that are fighting this disease and was shocked that's what my Dr. Prescibed!! Never mentioned the other. Please google it as I have, it costs some what more but not very much at all! Check out online prices, Vitamin shoppe,s , etc. Because its our bodies ladies and gentlemen as well. If you google it, research it you will find out its true, so if you can, order that type calcium. I went on a site vkool.com, I will go back and make sure of the correct spelling and also the correct spelling as it is and come back in . Look for it under my user name Blue, purple flower by my comments section today! At the end of the day what works for one, don't always for another. I need another bone density and have my T levels checked, soon! I ask for any prayers that it's working and if somewhat it is, then God takes it from there everyday, that's where my faith and trust are, and I never will push what I believe on others, that's me and what and where my faith, trust and beleif is at. Everyone, have the best day you and myself can have!

Today I got the results of my bone density test after two years. No obvious change. That makes me happy so I will continue with plant base calcium, K2 mk7, D3, and vitamen C but it’s not the ascorbic acid one.
Not having the injection which my doctor wanted me to have which I turned down it is a relief to know I have not slipped backwards. Especially seeing I was in the red area with my original results.
I have had three falls off my bike with no broken or fractured bones so they must be reasonable strong.
