Hi, new member here. Im 52, diagnosed 2010. No medicine. No issues. Then a year ago I had a sciatic nerve (ie-rod in leg feeling) issue & lower back pain. I had the rib pain when I originally had my compression fracture. The dr told me it was radiating pain. It was bad, has gotten better as it healed.

I have another compression fracture in my back. T 7 and my muscles in my back hurt really bad. It was hard to stand up and bending over was the only relief. Tried pain meds they don’t work at all. You have to take too many! I have been using heating pad in the morning and stretching a lot. By the afternoon it is better and finally went to work yesterday. It is the weirdest feeling that is for sure. I am starting on some bone supplements for 6 months to see if I can improve my Ed a scan. Just have to hope it helps. I know he you feel.

One last thing, go on google to inspire and put in your rib crushing question along with Kyphoplasty. There is a lot of valuable information on that site. Also what supplements are you taking? AlgaeCal with Strontium is good be sure your D levels are high, magnesium and boron. I know this whole thing is overwhelming, but the right supplements can really build your bones. Good luck!

I too have that pain. It is due to me losing 8 inches in height from multiple fractures over the years. So now my innards are squished into a much smaller space, which includes bowel issues for me. It also affects my rib cage and I feel like they get stuck either inside or outside my pelvis.

I feel for you all. I was diagnosed 18 years ago with Osteoporosis and told it was bad for my age. I’d had it since my menopause. I was given Risidronate and Calceos (Calcium with Vitamin D) and to this day, I believe that’s what has helped with a little aquacise and Rehab exercises 1 or 2 times a week, occasionally I do some indoors.
I had pain in my facet joints they were very painful until I had injections about every 3 years and the last one was different to the other 2 and I was told I wouldn’t be able to have any more and I must say, I don’t get a lot of pain, and The hips and I was told it was Osteoarthritis, they were painful for about 5 years. One had gone up into my pelvis and the other had to have a pin in the socket. I asked if it was anything yo do with Osteoporosis, and the Consultant didn’t know. I don’t know where my Osteoporosis has gone to.
I have problems in my lumbar spine and the whole of my spine is wear and tear in the discs. My neck is the most painful at the moment, it has improved since I had massage in it about 18/24 months ago. Physio doesn’t touch anything
And then I had a tendon snapped in my arm/shoulder, which also affects my neck now and Osteoarthritis was mentioned again. There, I must admit I rub pain relief gel in and I’ve taken Codeine and Paracetamol for a lot of years to relieve any pain.
The reason I am writing this to you, is because I feel so very lucky and blessed. And I feel for you all who have had these fractures and other problems. I do hope you can get some stronger Painkillers etc. Or gel. What I do find also eases pain with me is an electric pad for my back and microwave heat pad for my neck. God Bless you all. My caring thoughts are with you and other Team members. Margaret ❤XXX
