While osteoporosis merely causes the bones to thin not a painful process in itself – it can lead to fractures, compressed nerves, and muscle spasms that cause MyOsteoTeam members a great deal of pain.

"I get dreadful neck pain going up into the back of my skull also awful muscle spasms in the trapezius muscles also migraines that have become almost daily. Anyone else gets these symptoms?" -A member of MyOsteoTeam

On MyOsteoTeam, the social network and online support group for those living with osteoporosis, members talk about a range of personal experiences and struggles. Managing pain is one of the most discussed subjects.

Here are some conversations about managing pain:

Does anybody have pain and fatigue after 4 pm?

I can't handle much of this pain!

I have hip and back pain if I stand a lot. Is this normal?

I don't like to take prescription painkillers so I just use Advil.

Can you relate?
