Members connected over experiencing sharp, burning, or stabbing pain under the left rib cage, with many attributing it to different causes including possible rib fractures from osteoporosis, spine compression from wedge fractures, fibromyalgia, or side effects from medications like Prolia. Several members shared that the pain worsens at night or after standing for long periods, with some finding relief through rest, pain medication, anti-inflammatories, or avoiding environmental triggers like central heat and chemical irritants. A recurring theme was the challenge of getting clear answers from doctors about the source of rib pain, the fear and frustration of navigating multiple overlapping conditions, and the comfort found in shared experiences and mutual support within the community.

Yes. I have had this exact pain for almost 5 years now.
I feel it more- when I have to stand for very long periods of time. It is almost unbearable at times. It feels like a horrible burning stabbing pain.
I am wondering if it is caused by my ribs or from my Fibromyalgia.
I have to sit or lay down- when this happens.
Which is most of the time.

It is a primary care physician-
Or I should have said GP - General Practitioner.
It is actually just a regular doctor.
I apologize that I didn't explain it better.
Take care. Be safe. God bless you.
