I was on Reclast for several years as I am unable to use any other osteoporosis treatments due to various other issues. I had no side effects from getting the infusions and actually had my osteoporosis slide back into osteopenia (big win). I think part of that was also due to my strength training, weight lifting, resistance bands, etc. I also ride my recumbent bike every evening before I make dinner. I'm 2 years out now from when my doctor put me on a Reclast hiatus and my most recent bone scan showed no degradation. Still osteopenia. I continue to go to the gym 3 days a week and do reformer pilates twice a month

Some common things people report after their Reclast infusion include:
- Flu-like symptoms in the first few days (fever, muscle aches, fatigue)
- Headache or nausea
- Bone or joint pain
- Improvement in bone density over time with continued use
These side effects are usually most noticeable after the first infusion and tend to lessen with subsequent ones. Staying well-hydrated before and after the infusion can help reduce side effects.
It's worth noting that one MyOsteoTeam member mentioned being at the early stage of osteoporosis and having their doctor suggest the yearly IV therapy, but feeling uncertain and leaning toward a more holistic approach — which shows that it's completely okay to have questions and weigh your options.
Always have an open conversation with your doctor about any concerns before starting or continuing Reclast. They can help tailor the best approach for your specific situation.
