There are times that I haven’t done anything and right across my lower back hurts awful. If I vacuum the house I can only do a small area before the pain is terrible and I have to stop.

Members connected over the shared struggle of lower back pain that limits everyday activities like vacuuming and gardening, with many describing how they can only work in short bursts before pain forces them to stop. Several members shared strategies that help manage the pain, including chiropractic care, ibuprofen or paracetamol, deep heating creams, core strengthening exercises, and switching between activities every 30 minutes to prevent flare-ups. A recurring theme was the emotional challenge of accepting new physical limitations, the importance of pacing and taking breaks, and the need to find workarounds that allow members to continue doing activities they love without paying the price afterward.

I can relate. I've had Osteoporosis since 2005. I find that if working in garden I can do about 30 minutes at a time then need to switch up to another activity whether housework or walk. If I do more than that I'm doomed with extreme pain. It's taken me a long time to get the timing down but it keeps pain at bay.

I tend to overdo it every time I do some work outside. I love to garden, but my back always complains about it.

Vacuuming is hard on the lower back. That slight twisting. I’m doing a lot of core and abdominal exercises to help strengthen lower back muscles. Hoping it helps.
