Members shared varied approaches to managing osteoarthritis pain through diet, with many emphasizing that losing weight through healthier eating made a noticeable difference in joint pain and mobility. Several members recommended calcium-rich foods like Greek yogurt, prunes, cheese, and kefir, along with anti-inflammatory staples from the Mediterranean diet such as olive oil, salmon, sardines, and nuts. A recurring theme was the powerful impact of eliminating sugar and refined carbs, with one member sharing how a family member with ankylosing spondylitis avoided medication for 20 years by strictly cutting out sugar, though occasional treats come with the trade-off of next-day pain.

You really do have to be strict with this diet, family member was diagnosed with ankalosing spondylitis but was loathe to take the meds,i told him about taking all sugars out of his diet including beers and wine and he followed this advice, that was 20 years ago and he has never taken the meds ,he does have the odd treat but knows he will be in pain the next day but thinks its a fair trade off,

Cutting out sugar has amazing effects but when I did it I also stopped all carbs that turns to sugar when being digested ie bread and potatoes,
Your weight comes down and you look younger.I did the diet as I had candida
