Has Anyone Used Algae Cal With Success?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

This product says it will treat by growing bone. However..one study said the test are unreliable ..showing new bone when thete isnt any real growth. Has anyone had successful reversal of osteo arthritis or osteoporosis? And how can u really tell?

I have been on AlgaeCal since July 2018, after fracturing L1, L2, and T12. I tried Tymlos, but it didn’t like me. Then the Endo Dr wanted me to get the Prolia shot, and I said, No. I found a new Endo Dr who I think I like (after one apt). She wanted me to take fosamax, and I again said, No. I take 2 AlgaeCal in the AM, and 2 with dinner. Strontium occasionally- also take Triple Power 2X a day. I have changed my diet with pumpkin, flax and hemp seeds, fruits, veggies; well, you get the idea. Also exercise a lot.
Good Luck - no drugs for me. Next bone scan is April 2020 and fingers crossed.

I was an office nurse to an Internal Medicine Doctor, for 20 years. I was given free sample of Fosamax, Miacalcin and Boniva. I took each medication for 2 years. After each quarter I had density scans, had no change in bone density. So, after 6 years of 3 top medications I had no bone growth and continued to show deteriorating bone density. I no longer take any prescription drugs for osteoporosis. I'm 63 with bones compared to an 80 year old.

Hi Judy
I also have severe osteoporosis and had5 compression fractures inside a month...i didn't know what to do or where to start. I was told by my endocrinologist that i needed to start forteo injections. I wasn't about to start without turning over every stone to get information on it. I did a lot of research, consulted with a nutritionist and consuled with another doc in Boston...all agreed that i needed to go on the forteo so i took a deep breath and started taking it...i haven't had any side effects thank God.
I also did a lot of research on algae cal..it contains high levels of something that is dangerous..i cant remember what i would have to look at my notes
But im putting it in God hands
Good luck and God bless

Hi Kvaleri, thank you for telling me about your situation with forteo. I'm waiting to get into my doctor's appointment with an endocrinologist, who also does Integrative Medicine, herbal medicine and holistic health. I just cannot get myself to agree to take forteo until I can find out that there isn't any other option that can help me grow new bone. I'm just trying to eat really healthy and can't do much exercising yet until my fractures heal. The doctor I went to told me that after the age 50 it doesn't really help to take calcium supplements so I am confused. But everything I read vitamins
D3,E,magnesim and c are very important and blackstrap molasses
helps build bone. I just don't want to make the wrong decision and make matters worse. Thanks again for your input.

Judy
