I have being diagnosed with a raised IgG lambda protein in my blood. This may lead to myeloma. I already have Polymyalgia Rheumatica and osteoporosis. Can you enlighten me please as to what I can do, eat etc, to help myself.
With PMR there is a lot of inflammation in the body and it upsets blood results!
Thank you so much Helen. I was imagining the worst. Up to December 2017 I was very active. I went to the gym 3 times a week, did a spinning class, a pilates class, boogie bounce, and took my dogs for a 7 mile walk twice a week, and ran some of that. Then I got Lymes disease which nearly killed me and ruined my joints. That left me with PMR. I have 6 months treatment left for that, and it was in decreasing the meds that the consultant noticed the IgG lamba band. When I was going for my last DEXA scan I had a car crash and tore both posterior and anterior cruciates and both menisci in my right knee..I'm awaiting a knee replacement. I was just starting to emerge from all this mess. I'm normally very positive, but this seemed like the straw that broke the camel's back. Thank you for giving me hope. I guess I'll just shake myself up and get on with it. Thank you so much!
I’ve had PMR and they tested me for Myeloma and for a while it was suspected, but then ruled out thank goodness.
Keep moving and exercising that’s really important.
A healthy diet with lots of fruit, veg, calcium rich foods.
