Anyone On Here Tried The Silver Sneakers Exercise Program? Is It Sufficient For Osteoporosis Exercise?

In addition to osteoporosis, I have severe osteoarthritis in hips, knees, and feet. This is seriously impairing my ability to do many of the recommended exercises. I know I need to exercise, just seeking a program that I can do and not cause significantly more pain but still benefit from. This is all quite a balancing act!

I attend a community center where I attend 4 hours of silver sneakers exercise weekly. Excellent. Aerobics, line dancing, kick boxing. In summer, We do aquatic aerobics in outdoor pool. Love it!

Diagnosed With Osteoporosis

Diagnosed With Osteoporosis

I was diagnosed today. I haven’t stopped crying. I have been a very healthy person. I’m scared after reading about the side effects of all those medications. I wonder if there are people who have decided not to take any medication and treat it just with a good diet and exercise. Is that a good idea?
Thanks,

Do Compression Fractures Of The Vertebrae Really Heal?

Do Compression Fractures Of The Vertebrae Really Heal?

I work in retail so I have no alternative but to be on my feet for 7 to 8 hours a day. Everything I've read said they should heal within 6 to 8 weeks but I just dont that is my case. Any feed back is welcome!

Qi Gong, Anyone?

Qi Gong, Anyone?

Are you doing qi gong? Are you finding it helpful? For a week, or so I’ve been trying some SpaceToRelax qi gong exercises that are helping me feel less stressed, and less tight. What exercise routines are you doing to stretch and feel better? How much is age related and how much is osteo related? I’m confused!

A MyOsteoTeam Member said:

it could be alot of things like age, history of injuries, ostro. ask your pcp. it's usually many things together.
