I have been diagnosed for a little over 6 months. The pain is getting worse. I really do not want to take the meds the Dr. has prescribed. The side effects seem horrible. (The one the doctor recommended "Calcintonin" can cause cancer. it is a nasal spray. I'm looking for a more holistic approach. I came across an herbal supplement called AlgaeCal. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of/or tried this supplement. It is rather expensive but the testimonials are very positive. I'm wondering if it is… read more

Had one and only Prolia shot back in 2021...caused back pain which eventually went away...Went on Actonel for 6 weeks and started neck pain. (did PT and sterioid shot). Neck not the same but definitely able to live with it. Dr. said one had nothing to do with the other. Been fine until 2 weeks ago.Back pain came out of nowhere... hoping MRI does not show compression fracture. Any advice for severe lower back pain and should I go back on Actonel. When a bone is brittle osteopenia or osteoporosis it just mean we don't make enough of it as its a living organ. It doesn't get replaced Thank Mr google
I have Osteoporosis, do I still need to get Dexa scans done? Or once your diagnosed with osteoporosis, then you don't need any more Dexa scans ?
Thank you
You should have quite regular scan I was told by past doctors but the one I have now says no.

I have been diagnosed with 2 compression fractures one of T7 and L4 over a year ago, T7 still causes me pain especially when I'm on my feet for extended periods of time and when I perform house cleaning jobs such as vacuuming and mopping floors. I work in retail so I have no alternative but to be on my feet for 7 to 8 hours a day. Everything I've read said they should heal within 6 to 8 weeks but I just dont that is my case. Any feed back is welcome!
Don’t sit for too long without getting up and moving about. Otherwise, I get too stiff to move! Rigor mortis.
I have been taking generic Fosamax 70mg. going on 3 years recently my dentist said suggested I should stop taking it. My last test showed I now have Osteopenia. My doctor said to continue with it. Can anyone tell me how long they have been on it. I am worried ablut it's side effects. Thank you!
I stopped talking Fosmax after my dentist told me that I would have to wait 3 months before they could pull a tooth. Came as a shock wish I had been told before I began.
