Members shared deeply divided perspectives on zoledronate infusions for osteoporosis, with some expressing strong concerns about bisphosphonates and advocating for natural approaches, while others described their own experiences, including one member who developed osteonecrosis of the jaw after years of treatment but also suffered fractures off the medication. Several members offered practical insights, including that infusion frequency can vary from annually to every six months depending on fracture history, and many emphasized the importance of supplementing with vitamin D3, K2, magnesium, and omega-3s alongside any treatment decision. A recurring theme was the difficult balancing act between managing severe pain and fracture risk versus fear of medication side effects, with members offering empathy and encouragement to someone facing immobility and chronic regional pain syndrome.

@A MyOsteoTeam Member hello personally I’m having 6monthly Prolia injections after having lots of side effects from Aledronic Acid tablets and Fosamax plus was the last time I took them

I also take a daily Vitamin D 3 1000iu and a vitamin K2 for my bone health and it has helped my body recover completely from fractures and a broken rib from two dreadful falls last year

I have been taking a few other supplements including Fish oil 1000mg Omega 3 vitamin C 1000ng and high strength Magnesium and I am feeling very well at 83

Hugs from Judyxx

Eating healthy food is also important

Yes after 3yrs 5 breaks later I've gone onto zolendrate acid...not sure if doing any good as everyday I seem to have a new pain...I do try to distract my mind but hardest thing about all this is not being here there and everywhere. We take walking for granted until unable freely to do so.
Good luck with all you do.

That is awful. i have been in pain most of my adult life due to migraines, which are finally under control, and back issues that are not related to osteoporosis. I had my first back surgery at 30. Still having issues with my back. Now i have torn meniscus in both knees. I am still afraid to take osteo. meds due to side effects.

I am confused. Why do you have burning nerve pain?? Is that from the Zolendrate (sp)? I have osteoporosis and was diagnosed in 2017 or 2016 and have resisted taking any meds. I constantly am having dental work done as I have very bad teeth as did my parents. So my Dr wants me to take Tymlos, a bone builder. It cost $3K a month and you take it for 2 years. You give yourself a shot in the stomach every day. And then afterwards, you go on a drug like Fosamax.
So last week, I took a bad fall on concrete and landed HARD on my knees and wrists and face. I also hurt some ribs on the left side, but guess what?. NO FRACTURES.Still in pain and bruised up!!
