Hands Clenched And Knuckles Popping On Straightening????
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi for the last couple of weeks I have woken with my hands clenched into fists and when I straighten them it is very painful and in some knuckles I get this weird popping sensation. Also get it in my elbow too. Having to wait three weeks for blood tests as there is a shortage of vials at my doctors. Does anyone else experience this? Just wondering if it is a symptom of my osteoporosis or something else? Thanks Annie x

I’m not sure it’s a symptom of anything….other than aging. I have what is called a trigger finger. I can’t automatically straighten my middle finger on my right hand. It comes and goes. No pain. But, I do think that hand exercises help it a lot. Mine has mostly gone away. Seems like doing dishes with warm / not hot water has helped. I still use my dishwasher but probably do dishes in the sink at least once a day. I also try relaxing in a nice deep bath tub. I believe in avoiding taking any over the counter drugs, and also passing on medical interventions unless they are absolutely necessary.
