From what I have read and been told, After you are done taking the forteo shots, they usually have you start taking fosamax right away. The forteo builds bone and the fosamax slows down or stops the bone loss. Your doctor should have told you about this.

But they only give you shots for so long & then that's it. My 2 sisters were on those shots. Then they just end them. I don't know...

Thanks Pam, taking Forteo was years ago. I don't think they said anything. But I am probably wrong. I thought I didn't need anything after that. Fosamax I stopped cuz of teeth. Doc. said that was ok. Bones are ok for now. What kind of Doc should I see for osteoporosis? I can't remember her name. It was that long ago. Maybe 20 yrs ago when I had 4 spine closures. Can't remember the name!! Guess I should ask my GP for one.
