A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Vancouver, WA

Has anyone tried Tymlos? My doctor wants me to use it for 2 years. I have osteoporous and a bone disease called hypophosphatasia.
Just wondering what problems you may have had with it.
thank you

Members shared mixed experiences with Tymlos for osteoporosis, with some reporting significant bone density improvements (like a 9% spine gain in a clinical trial) while others saw no benefit despite completing the full two-year course. Several members mentioned they experienced no side effects, though one member developed an allergy that required stopping treatment. A recurring theme was the high cost of Tymlos, with practical advice to contact the manufacturer for income-based assistance programs or ask doctors about other financial support options, especially for those living on limited income like Social Security.

It didn't. I had no benefit from it, but that's just because of the severity of my osteo. I didn't have any side effects from it either.

I wasn't on tymlos but i was on it's sister drug forteo. They are apparently the same thing as if you get one, you can't do the other.

I was on for two years with no benefit but no side effects as well. I ended up with four months of unused Tymlos when I was all through. Tried to give it away and was told that was illegal.

I had to go to the tymlos website and got a telephone number to call for assistance. It is based on income and because all my husband and I have is social security I was approved. You can try that and there are other programs that you can apply to. Ask your doctor and he/she should have the names of them.
