I quit going for follow-up dexa scans because the one doctor told me that if I wasn't going to take the drugs there was no point. But I did decide to do all I can on my own to improve my bone health. So I researched the various types of calcium and decided the one that had the best chance of being absorbed is Bone-Up which is made from powdered calf bone and includes other important supplements like Vit K & D. I also started taking collagen peptides daily, plenty of vitamin D, a daily multivitamin (Centrum Silver) and drinking organic milk. I make sure I get plenty of protein daily and spread out my calcium intake throughout the day to make sure it is absorbed. THE GOOD NEWS: My new primary care physician urged me to go back to get a dexa scan. I went to the same bone health specialist that I had gone to in the past and MY BONE DENSITY AND BONE MASS HAD IMPROVED! I was ecstatic! I did it with diet, supplements and exercise - no drugs. They had told me that wouldn't be possible, but I did it! Now I am so determined to do even better in practicing healthy choices every day. IT DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Great to hear. Learned something also. When you mention to spread out your calcium. I was taking it all in one shot. Thanks for the tip.
