I have been diagnosed with Osteoporosis in the spine (-3.7) with some back pain. I am 58 years old and have weight trained since I was 19 years old. I have never crash dieted and have always eaten diary products. I have always held a good weight, around 55 kgs on average and still do. I also walk a lot as I have always had a dog and have done quite a bit of mountain biking and still do. To date, I have had four Aclasta Infusions. When diagnosed I was (-3.5) and went down to (-3.2) with the first… read more

Members responded to concerns about Aclasta infusions losing effectiveness for osteoporosis, with several pointing to levothyroxine as a potential factor since multiple members noted studies linking the thyroid medication to decreased bone density. Many members shared their own experiences with similar medications and treatments, including successful outcomes with Aclasta for spinal fractures and trials with Forteo injections, though some mentioned unknown long-term effects. A recurring theme was the importance of reviewing all medications with specialists, considering genetic factors, and being willing to trial different treatments while maintaining proper diet and exercise.

Not really sorry. I studied it a year ago when I started developing problems with my bones. Hormone related somehow which we all know affects bone growth. There are other drugs that do the same thinning out the bones antidepressants. Amphetamines. There was even speculation that progesterone only therapy causes it.
