Most people feel very shivery for the rest of that day. The infusion is usually done in a hospital and you sit in a comfy chair for it. The infusion takes 20 minutes to run through and your temperature, pulse and blood pressure are measured and re measured by the nurse. She brings you a cup of tea or coffee while the infusion is going through!
After my second infusion I have got an itchy prickly rash, which has still not settled. The doctors all say it’s not connected but I think it is!
Before agreeing to a third infusion I have said I want a DEXA bone scan to see if the infusions have helped me.
If result is not positive, I will refuse third scan and start taking an algae based calcium instead. The algae based calcium is expensive and I would have to pay a lot for it. One lady on this site has reversed her Osteoporosis to Osteopaenia using such a supplement for a year and a half!

I just had that infusion in March, I could not believe the bone pain the first few days and a high fever for 2 days. It left me very tired and weak for about 2 weeks. Fine now, although it seems to have set of rheumatoid arthritis in my eye.

After my first infusion of Reclast, I had a bone density test and the results showed a slight improvement. I felt ANY improvement is better than None at all, so, had my second Reclast infusion. Hopefully, this will improve my bones even more. We'll see.

Drink plenty of water etc before and after. Don’t worry if you get the shivering. I have only come across two other people on this site who got the rash.
Hugs.

Thank you for your reply.
My infusion will be given at home by a nurse.
I am not looking forward to it.
I hope all goes well.
