Is There Any Treatment Or Help I Can Get To Release The Nerve

I have degenerative osteoarthritis of my Lower spine which has caused sciatica to my right leg , the pain is unbearable especially in the mornings, I’ve tried stretches and am quite active but it seems that after I relax the pain gets worse , it’s been going on for 5 months now sometimes it wakes me up during the night

I am recovering from 5 compression fractures in my back and have a lot of pain..they a re going to do diagnostic nerve blocks to determine exactly which nerve are causing the pain and then they will the the ablation
I would recommend it to anyone

I have a lot of problems with pain in my legs from my back so I have tried several things and some of them have worked to relieve the pain. I take a prescription medication by the name of Horizant which has gabapentin in it but it is time released so it does not make you so tired. I take mine of the evening and I am on one pill per day and it is 600 mg. I know that it can also help restless leg syndrome. I have had acupuncture on my legs and low back which after I kept doing it helped. I do have a spinal cord stimulator which was implanted in December 2015 after major back surgery a year before that. Sometimes it helps with the leg pain when it starts. The last thing I did the end of 2018 and first part of 2019 last year when I decided to come off my pain patches was I had a stem cell shot in my left hip to see if it would stop the pain in my lower back and left leg.It worked and am still not having much problem in the left side. I also had a stem cell injection in my right hip and right knee. It helped both but more so the hip and leg not as much on the knee. I know this is a lot of info but wanted to let you know things I have done that has helped.
Have a blessed day.

Evelyn, that’s what my doctor told me to no surgery because of the osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease my bones are too weak, that’s why they won’t hold up to any surgery as far as the plates or anything involving screws. I’m only 68 but i’ve been suffering with this since I was 51 but recently got my fractures and I’ve had spinal stenosis for over 10 years. Have cervical Stenosis,Recently diagnosed, so the neck pain is unbearable sometimes along with my back pain. I too am on gabapentin, but I try to space them out so I don’t get that pressure headache from it , Which is just as bad as the neck ache. Maybe your dose is too high? I’m just healing from my compression fractures which started in January but not diagnosed until March. No one would believe the pain I was in so no x-rays or MRI’s for months while I suffered. Went to three different doctors and the ER, and they kept sending me back-and-forth with my pain in my thoracic lumber spine. It was a nightmare, because I had chronic pain they kept thinking it was my herniated disc and sciatica but I told him it was much much worse, even crying until finally the NP at my doctors office sent me for an MRI with questions as to why nobody had done anything sooner. I was so mad at my doctors I scolded each one of them, and now they treat me like a queen giving me i’ll kinds of treatments to help me. I get in-home care for six hours a day and Physical Therapy in my home because I’m not able to drive anywhere. Thank God someone listened 🙏 then I lost my son in May and had to travel in my condition which was the worst thing in the world to suffer through. I guess we all have our burdens to carry and we each must try to be a spokesperson for ourselves, Don’t give up talk to your doctors and get the help you need to get through this, hugs and blessings, Margie
