I have osteoporosis for several years and have been putting off taking any meds as I am scared with all the reported side effects. I was sent to a rheumatologist and he says I am at risk for fracture as my scan readings are at critical levels and I must take something. He suggests Fosamax to start. I know I have no choice and am very worried but he explained my probability of having a fracture is much greater than any side effects I take calcium and Vitamin D. I have osteoporosis and have recently started a couch to 5K ten week course .Week one was 5 minutes and run 30seconds and we will gradually build up to running 5K.I have received conflicting advice about doing this .I have managed 2 sessions so far but my hip aches very badly the day after.Should I persevere?. Thanks for any advice .x
I’m curious because it’s taken weekly, orally, and on the days I take it I’m experiencing extreme heartburn ❤️‍🔥
I’m about to contact my GP - I follow the process to a tee however I continue us to experience severe GERD the entire day I take it

I'm afraid of doing anything except walking and swimming for fear of hurting myself, but I get bored with these. My osteoporosis is mild in my spine and moderate in my hips. I've had two crush fractures. My back can be extremely painful. I've tried Pilates and yoga, but some of the excersises really hurt my upper back, so I end up not doing anything! I used to love cycling, but I've lost all my confidence and can't balance anymore as I'm so scared of falling off.
Try chair yoga.

I had Osteopenia and about 10 years ago I actually reversed it enough by doing Jazzercise to stay of the medication. I was sick and did not do it as often as I did 10 years ago and had my bi-annual DEXA scan. It revealed Osteoporosis. I have started Jazzercise again hoping that I may reverse it again. I just want to do it safely. I feel great and feel good after my 45 minute workout. I do it at least 3 times a week. It also involves weights. I have been doing this at home.
