I asked my doctor this week to be referred to have a bone density scan. She said no as I’m taking medication for my bones so there is no need for the scan, I’m on Risedronate sodium tablet once a week have been for many years. I’ve only ever had one of these scans when I got diagnosed with osteoporosis.
Can anyone tell me how often do you have a bone density scan, or where can I get the information on this please xxx
I get a Dexa Scan every other year
The pain travels up my neck into my skull and at base of my skull , it affects my ears also. The pain is unbearable and it’s there daily anyone else got this problem , if so what is it and how do you ease it? Iv had it since March ( months pain and worry. The only reason I found out was I had a broken bone and a scan was recommended. Calcium was probably not a focus for me as I got older so I’m wondering if that had something to do with it. What I want to know is why are Dexa scans not recommended until later and why is calcium not a bigger concern for doctors as we age? Maybe this could have… read more

Hi I'm due for my second prolia shot September 18th. That being said I've been babysitting my grandbabies and my left shoulder has been killing me. Does this have to do with the shot wearing off does anybody know?
@A MyOsteoTeam Member, i hope the shots work, after 6 years slight improvement.
