Does Any Medication Actually Repair Our Bones?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does Fosomax actgually work? Does Prolia actually work? Bad side effects for everything. Sometimes I think I want to just do nothing. Because I still work, (have to) still paying for my kids college and 10 more yrs of house payments, etc. My doctor even comments that "sometimes there is breaks in the femur" or other bones" while using this mediciation. Isn't it supposed to make them strong instead of weaker? I think Medicine sometimes causes other problems. I wouldn't have this if I… read more

Has Anyone Experienced Vertebral Fractures And Scoliosis?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I refused bone meds out of fear of side effects and have suffered four vertebral fractures and scoliosis. I am miserable and now my oncologist says they probably can’t be fixed by Kyphoplasty because I have discs involved. But I need an MRI and to see a neurosurgeon. I’ve been in a recliner for seven months and I feel my life is over. Can anyone relate or help me?

Has Someone In The Medical Field Acted Like Your Diagnosis Of Osteoporosis Is NOT A Big Deal?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

In March 2020 I had a mental health issue & was in the hospital 2 weeks. When out I had a wellness (mental health) councilor from a senior center for about 8 months. We had sessions on phone once a week for an hour. It helped. Now about a month after osteoporosis diagnosis while I was scared to death, very concerned about what that meant, what would happen to my body, Dr told me nothing - did he know anything? I wasn't sleeping well, my blood pressure was up. I called that councilor & told her… read more

Do you take Ad-Cal?? (Vitamin D plus Calcium). Available on prescription from GP, I take 4 daily. Helps slow down bone density/deterioration. Can be easily bought in supermarkets etc.

What Dr. To Treat Osteoporosis
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have seen in many posts going to an endocrinologist. Is this to treat osteoporosis? My internist is treating me now. Should I be seeing a endocrinologist for my osteoporosis? I also have Hashimotos disease. My thyroid is nothing more than fibrous tissue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.😊

A MyOsteoTeam Member

I agree, although I am new to all of this, I feel for all who are dealing with Osteoporosis on top of everything else we all deal with. I also take calcium and D. Thank you for your help. Stay well 😀

I’ve had sciatica. The only thing that helped was steroids. It literally took the pain away, the only thing is, you can’t stay on them

Prolia DISASTER
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'd been on Prolia a few years. Wasn't getting better but at least not getting worse
Then doctor retired and new doctor couldn't see me right away
I said I was supposed to get this shot every six months but they said I had to wait for the new doctor.
WEEKS after she told me this, THREE VERTEBRAE FRACTURED!
I have been in pain every single day ever since!
I got the shot however, and now I still have to be on Prolia!
Here is what I have as a result, IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE FRACTURES… read more

A MyOsteoTeam Member

The answer? I DON'T KNOW!! The doctors are telling me the same thing -- that I've been on Prolia long enough. And as noted before, Prolia even threatens my eyesight! But I'm afraid that… read more
