I have degenerative osteoarthritis of my Lower spine which has caused sciatica to my right leg , the pain is unbearable especially in the mornings, I’ve tried stretches and am quite active but it seems that after I relax the pain gets worse , it’s been going on for 5 months now sometimes it wakes me up during the night

My body doesn’t seem to absorb vit d even when I was taking 10000units as my level was 17.
I am now on 2000 units daily and still only in the high 20.
I include items that contain vit d in my food,
My density score was T-2.9 when diagnosed year ago at 58
What can I do

I seem to tire more easily. Is this part of having osteoporosis

I had been on Prolia about 6 years. It wasn't helping much but at least I wasn't getting worse

Since my 5 endplate fractures my spine has shrunk and now my ribs sit inside my hips when I’m on my feet or sitting when I lay down I seem to stretch out a bit I have a small gap between them. It can cause discomfort, vacuuming is the worst ,it becomes quite painful. Is there any treatment for this does any one know. Per my PCP's advise I took Actonel for my severe osteoporosis. After 10 mos. I stopped taking it because of the horrible side effects (fever, nausea, digestive issues, hair loss). He is now pushing me to take Prolia and I really want to try a natural route (without side effects) for a year until my next bone density test. Thinking of AlgaeCal Plus/Strontium Boost. Any opinions?

My mother took Fosamax for over 8 years and still broke her hip. I have friends who have tried the shots and still broken bones. What have you found the most effective treatment for osteoporosis? I am also trying the exercise program by Margaret Martin. I already exercise daily and this helps me focus on a program particular to osteoporosis; including tips on what not to do. I have also heard that your diet is also a factor? Has anyone found this to be true? Thanks so much.

I have osteoporosis,and I am happy to say I have not had any broken bones! My bone density test show my 60 year old bones are like that of an 80+ year old women.However I am in pain every day, my knees,hips
,back and hands hurt the most. But my doctors say there is no pain with osteoporosis until you have a fracture or break. And X-rays have not shown much arthritis. How "much" do I need to have for them to explain the pain I have? Have any of you had pain without fracture or arthritis?
