I have and am now on Prednisone for Crohn's disease. This is usually a short term solution, but I heard that Prednisone can affect bone health.
This is what I found when I Googled the question:
Long-term use of prednisone can lead to osteoporosis and an increased risk of bone fracture, though this risk is reversible once medications are stopped. It’s important to check your bone density if you’re going to take the medication for a long period of time.
