Members discussed the risks of stopping osteoporosis medications, particularly Prolia, with several sharing personal experiences of severe consequences including one member who developed eight compression fractures in her spine just four months after missing a single dose. Many community members described their hesitation about pharmaceutical treatments due to concerning side effects like cardiovascular risks with Evenity, kidney damage with Reclast, and bone fractures with Prolia, leading some to opt for supplement combinations of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3, and K2 instead. A recurring theme was the difficult balance between managing osteoporosis effectively and avoiding potentially serious medication side effects, with members emphasizing the importance of never stopping Prolia without transitioning to another treatment and advocating strongly with doctors about safer alternatives.

I am proof it is Prolia. Doc said OK to miss one dose (thought I might be having side effects). 4 months after missing the dose I had 8 compression fractures in my spine.

Yes, Yes, Yes, it is Prolia...I missed one dose and 4 months later had 8 compression fractures in my spine. Evenity for one year now back on Prolia....it's not pretty and trying to get as good as I can with therapy.

I know Bobbie.... Isn't it crazy ??? I've been burned by Pharmaceuticals before so I'm very cautious. Currently Im doing CAL/MAG.... thinking of adding vitamin K to that. I'm no doctor, but I know my body.... if there's side effects, I usually get them.
