I want to know if anyone in this group never had a symptom that you have Osteoporosis . I never suffered but my doctor has for a bone density which showed that I have Osteoporosis. I have fallen all my life and never broke a bone. I was born with a connective tissue disorder. My doctor tells me it is because I have not fallen in a particular way to cause a fall. I just want to see if any of you never had a broken bone after a fall. My doctor put me on Alendronate Sodium 70mg. I… read more

Members shared their surprise at osteoporosis diagnoses despite having few or no symptoms, with many describing histories of falls without fractures until suddenly experiencing compression fractures from seemingly minor actions like bending over or pushing up from a chair. Several members discussed their medication experiences, including challenges with Fosamax and Prolia, acid reflux concerns, and a preference for exploring natural remedies, nutritional support, acupuncture, and functional medicine approaches rather than standard pharmaceutical treatments. A recurring theme was the invisible nature of osteoporosis until a sudden fracture occurs, the difficulty of managing chronic pain that others don't understand, and the impact of life stressors like divorce or cancer treatment on bone health.

Hi Becky. I'm glad u added that 2nd post, now we have a fuller picture of what has happened to u. I'm so sorry for all the physical pain u have gone through & then the mental/emotional pain of divorce & what came before that. Yes I have read stress is not good at all for us with OP. Well, I hope u can have a more calm life now & totally take care of you. Hugs & blessings. 🤞🙋🏼‍♀️

I had a couple really bad falls after I was diagnosed and didn't break anything!
My first fracture happened when I bent over to put clothes in a laundry basket! 2nd one was from a fall. This last one I tripped backwards and cracked my spine squarely on the window ledge. It is the worst fracture yet. I'm about halfway through healing....and I recently fractured my wrist pushing myself up... I'm not even bothering to go have it x-rayed. Just not using it and keeping it straight to heal.

No ageing is not easy. No one understands the pain, my daughter says move around more and walk, I know it supposed to help but they don't know how bad it hurts

I have no symptoms, haven’t fallen- no breaks or fractures other than a broken arm in 9th grade ( from being knocked over by a friend doing a cartwheel). I’m not taking prolia. I was diagnosed by my oncologist with dexa scan only.
Wondering if the Letrozole he has me on caused it.
