Forteo - Has Anyone Been On It? Does Insurance Cover Most Of It?

How is it to give yourself an injection every day? What are the side effects?

I was on Forteo for the required 2 years and have now started Prolia. I had no side effects with Forteo, and the injections were easy to give. Overall, it increased my bone density except for the left hip that showed no change. For me, it was worth trying.

My close friend works in an orthopedic office and she highly recommended it. I can’t get into a rheumatologist until 9/2022 so it will be awhile before I can make that decision.

I give myself insulin 3 times a day. Not a big issue after the first couple of times.

@A MyOsteoTeam Member You are completely right about the cost! My co-pay for Prolia is quite high, but if you divide it by 6 (since you take it 2x/year), it is not quite as frightening. I feel blessed that at least right now I can have it.
