Was given double the amount of a particular drug & kept falling when I stood up, until realized the amount was written wrong after taking it for several months. Once I went back to the right dosage, I stopped falling. However that was a major mistake that should have been avoided.

So sorry about your Aunt! Yes, Prednisone is not good. See what happened to anybody with elders or disabilities or so with any health issues and doctors put us on drugs which harmful ! What suggestion?? Any other options than prednisone. Recently, Last Nov 10th, I had the bone destiny and asked me questions. I was surprised they asked me about prednisone. I am allergic to it because I used it for Poison Ivy in the past / reaction/ so sick. I also used it younger. Which was okay but a lot. Plus I have rashes, etc I was told from doctors to use steroids topical. It was very little, low risk..... really?

I haven't heard about Didrocal. My question, did prednisone and Didorcal can not mix or not allow taking while Prednisone? Again, so terrible sorry about your aunt.
I am curious she died because of OSTEO caused from prednisone that treat for pneumonia in the first place? If so, then it makes me mad.
That's mean, many of us would be like that if we have pneumonia at the hospital while we have OSTEO? That's problem. How we solve this concerns to be avoided mistake. Toxic medicines that can hurt us much more because we have OSTEO? We need to stand up and know... I guess Osteo foundation need to support and list which can use while we have OSTEO if we are sick with pneumonia or bronchitis, etc. Maybe that help? I bet we all want to know? I do. I don't like doctors guess and guess to put medicines to people's health then opps not working, try another one, etc. AHHH. That's mean I can not take medicines because I have long list of allergic. I wonder if I have pneumonia. It is only one option, Prednisone? There may have other options but pretty similar? I have to ask my doctor or allergy doctor about this. Or they can't help because only what we all have? That's scary again !

( let me get the RX. Diciofenac Sodium Topical Gel I use tropical on my elbow due to tennis elbow. I will see another Dr to check if no tear tendinitis. Due to use walker and cane since 2018 broken foot and other injuries that hurt my elbows to use the devices. Anyway for tropical cream that dr said better than pill which worse but again add up. That's sad for toxic medicines RX out there.)

Do you have information updated that short term to use the high doses of prednisone/ s cause osteoporosis? So I can show to my doctors- NO More steroids.

The best thing you can do is ring your dentist. Ask them, they always ask what meds your are on, so they will run up and see if they can do anything for you if you need anything done.
