54 just diagnosed as a severe case. Took my breath away. Did not see this coming at all as I am active and exercise daily. Started Fosamax last month and taking calcium citrate. Added wrist weights to walks.

No but I am 52 which I feel is way to young for Osteoporosis. I went through menopause early and my estrogen tanked which I assume is why I have it. I thought I was active but I guess not. Very frustrating.

I am 40 and have osteonecrosis. I found out a day before my 40th birthday.

Hi Flippets
The best thing to do about the medicines is to ask your doctor for the fact sheet and read up on how it is going to work to help you.
