Reclast
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I need input on experience with reclast infusion. My rheumatologist wants me to start it. I heard it causes hair loss amongst a myriad of other bad side effects. She is kind of steam rolling me when I voice my objections. I was just diagnosed with osteoporosis. I'll be 78 in November.

I am sad to hear all the comments on here of the side effects osteoporosis medications are causing. I tried Fosamax tablets for 3 weeks and they caused stomach problems that didn't go away for 10 weeks! I did some research and found AlgaeCal Plus and Strontium Boost, natural, and clinically proven to build bone, supplements. I talked my Doctor into trying them even though he wanted me to go on Reclast. I have been on them since October 1, 2020 and just had a dexa scan in July this year. I was so thrilled that I went from osteoporosis back to osteopenia! I will continue taking them, as I know they build bone naturally! Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover it, but to me it is worth it! I recommend reading the book 'Your Bones' by Lara Pizzorno. I know you will find it very helpful! You can find it on Amazon for $12.00 or your local library may have it. Wishing everyone well!

I had my first infusion of Reclast on Oct. 29, 2021. 28 hours later I started having trouble seeing clearly. 2 days later I had double vision. I saw 3 eye specialists and 2 endocrinologists, they all thought it was a rare side effect from Reclast ! I was advised not to take it again. My vision slowly returned to normal 3 months later. It was a scary experience, to say the least.

I would encourage you to research for yourself the AlgaeCal and Strontium Boost. I am part of their Facebook group and there are so many positive posts about it improving bone health for women and men, no matter how bad their osteoporosis. It has been clinically
proven to work. Feel free to call them at (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) (USA and Canada) and (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) (International) and ask questions. Their bone experts are more than happy to help. Wishing you the best of luck, whatever you choose!

I think my Dexa Scan results are too bad for me to take Algaecal Plus & Strontium Boost. A specialist told me they are just Calcium, Vit D and other supplements that won’t help me. I live in the UK, and researching best meds to take - as I’m intolerant to most medications. Can’t take painkillers & I’m in constant pain. I think you are just lucky that these have helped you. Anyone else tried them - who have a very low Dexa Scan result? Mine was -4.9 two years ago
