Members discussed their experiences with low vitamin D levels and the various supplementation approaches their doctors prescribed to address deficiencies that can weaken bones and cause fatigue and muscle pain. Several members shared that their providers prescribed high-dose vitamin D at 50,000 units once weekly for 12 weeks to restore normal levels, while others found success with daily liquid vitamin D drops starting at 10,000 mg and adjusting based on test results, or prescription calcitriol to improve calcium absorption. A recurring theme was that vitamin D deficiency is common among members, often linked to sun avoidance due to skin cancer concerns or limited outdoor exposure, and that regular monitoring and personalized dosing strategies are key to maintaining healthy levels.
