we have dexa scans for bone density, and there is another test for bone quality, and we have messaged about it on this site, but I can't remember what it's called. The only thing I remember about it when I looked it up was that at this time, they only do the bone quality testing on the spine. But they said in the future that should change. Look on the MayoClinic website

they have several lengthy articles on trabecular bone score (TBS) at Mayo Clinic website. One of them states at the end of the article:
at present TBS can only be used to assess bone quality and fracture risk at the spine, although future studies to better understand its clinical utility at the hip appear likely."
