Members shared their experiences with AlgaeCal for bone health, with one member currently in their third year of use after Forteo did not work, noting that their doctor advised against other calcium forms due to heart concerns. Several members mentioned the high cost of AlgaeCal and explored more affordable alternatives like Raw Calcium, which contains similar ingredients, while others discussed different calcium forms such as Calcium Hydroxyapatite. A recurring theme was the challenge of finding the right supplement, with mixed opinions on pairing AlgaeCal with strontium and a shared desire for clearer medical guidance on bone-building options.

Hello,I took Algaecal, this is my third year. I start almost three years ago at the same time with forteo, did not work for me. I'm still on it bc dr said calcium citrate or oxalate or Oscal, is bad for your heart. What else can we do?

I just started taking it along with strontium. I am hopeful it will help.

I've been reading alot about all the calciums. Calcium Hydroxyapatite is the only one that is a whole mineral form of calcium. It is listed, also, in Osteo MD, but expensive too. I haven't tried it yet, but I am trying to find it by itself without all the other things in it. OsteoMD also has K2 called Mena Q7, Cissus Quadrangularis Calzone & D3 in it. I would love to find a Liposomal Calcium Hydroxyapatite that doesn't have soy in it. Looking at different labs & reading. Best to all!!

I've been reading up on Raw Calcium, it has the same ingredients as Algea Cal only much cheaper. Has anyone tried it?

Welcome sidloskas! I haven’t taken it but take most of the vitamins and minerals that are in Algaecal. Algaecal is very expensive!
