I fell about 7 years ago and broke 7 ribs all which could have hurt an organ, my Dr said. There was nothing to do about it & he said not to wrap the ribs like they used to do. They don't anymore. I could rearrange some pillows so that I could sleep as long as I didn't get out of position.

Hi - I fell backward over my granddaughter's puppy (a large breed big puppy) 7-8 months ago and broke a rib in 2 places. There was nothing the Dr. could do except let it heal. I had a lot of pain which at times was really bad & the healing was a lengthy process. I had to sleep in my recliner for a couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure my age (79) had a lot to do with the length of time it took to heal. It's a terrible feeling to be falling & know you are going to hit the ground & not know how bad it's going to be. I hope your rib is healing and that you aren't in a lot of pain now. Wishing you a Happy New Year. : )

Wrapping an elastic bandage snug around my chest and an elastic type camisole has helped me in the past with my ribs.
