I have osteoporosis and have recently started a couch to 5K ten week course .Week one was 5 minutes and run 30seconds and we will gradually build up to running 5K.I have received conflicting advice about doing this .I have managed 2 sessions so far but my hip aches very badly the day after.Should I persevere?. Thanks for any advice .x
Not the Road! Oh my I use to jog every other day 4 yrs and broke down my ankles. 20 yrs later broke both ankles at one time. Fell 2 a half feet off a lawn wall. Ugh.
Doctor said no more jogging!
I stopped. May ask your Endocrinologist his professional advice. He can explain your bone density in relationship to the hardship of jogging shock.
Have a Blessed Day.

Good luck.
I think you should take expert advice on this! My physiotherapist only lets me jog in water. She says not to do anything like this on land.
I have had one vertebral compressed fracture.
Thanks Ladies. My Gp told me in no uncertain terms to stop it so I have. I will go back to Zumba I think. x
Please don't. My sis in law jogged for years. She got a stress fracture but thought she pulled a muscle and has had a very long, difficult road of recovery. Taking supplements was not enough
As far a walking swimming or gentle exercise is great if you can do it however if you hurt you have to take time off I only say this because I try and I hurt my foot bones .. rest use hot tub if you can pamper yourself at times
: This information is from my PA(physician assistant) good luck
