Has Anyone Heard Of AlgaeCal?
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been diagnosed for a little over 6 months. The pain is getting worse. I really do not want to take the meds the Dr. has prescribed. The side effects seem horrible. (The one the doctor recommended "Calcintonin" can cause cancer. it is a nasal spray. I'm looking for a more holistic approach. I came across an herbal supplement called AlgaeCal. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of/or tried this supplement. It is rather expensive but the testimonials are very positive. I'm wondering if it is… read more

For anyone who is looking for a more natural course I highly recommend a book by Muryal Braun called Secrets to Prevent or Reverse Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. She is an 86 year old recently retired nurse who has been involved in independent nutritional research for over 40 years and applied what she learned to her own life.

I’ve taken algae cal for 10 months now! I also do bone strengthening exercises. Won’t know results for another year when have next dexa scan! I also take D3 and K2 when I remember.
I had a prolia injection 10months ago but decided against anymore. I was only just in osteoporotic range.

Yes I am taking algaecal and belong to their Facebook group that offers support, guidance and research about osteoporosis. With algaecal and their recommendations on proper nutrition, supplements, and modified exercises and research articles they post, I have been able to have a more positive outlook on my condition, reduce my back pain, and increase the strength in my back. All worth the price for quality of life! Not sure if my bone density is improving yet. Only been on it for a month but I do feel better knowing I am doing all I can to beat this.

If you have a spinal condition it affects your muscles - including pelvic floor ones, so incontinence becomes a problem. Do some pelvic floor exercises and it may help you regain full continence. One of the good ones is to imagine you are in company and think you are going to make a very rude noise and clench so you don’t!

I'm taking the same (or similar) supplements from Garden of Life at less than half the price.
