Wondering The Experiences Others Have Had Using Prolia Injections.
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have recently had a mysterious pelvic hip fracture so my dr has recommended Prolia injections. Just seeking some info on your experience with this treatment. Did it increase bone density? Did you experience side effects? Do you think it is an effective treatment? Would really appreciate your comments! Thanks!

I stopped taking after second injection due to deep back pain, rash all over back, inflamed skin over left shoulder and stiff neck that lasted over a year. I am very sensitive to meds and some people have had good results with Prolia. It's a big decision because the injections are every 6 months so the drug stays in your body longer than one taken daily or weekly, therefore side effects can last longer. Good luck with whatever you choose or you may want to go natural.

I have been on Prolia injections for 3yrs now. It doesn't cause stomach problems that I had taking Foxamax.

I have been on Prolia for about 6 years. I had been on Fosamax for a while but broke my left femur. My doctor switched me to Boniva, and after being on that for a couple of years, I broke my right femur. I was then recommended to an Endroconologist who recommended Prolia. It has stabilized my bone density.

II had bi-annual shots of Prolia for 5 years. Developed Osteocronosis of the jawbone - the bone was destroyed by Prolia. Within 24 hours of that surgery, I had Osteomyelitis - Staph infection that needed emergency surgery. Please research the side effects very carefully. I had 6 months of oral & IV anti-biotics plus the 2 surgeries. It was hell.
