Members discussed whether Prolia increases the risk of bladder infections, with most sharing that they have not experienced UTIs while on the medication, though one member reported developing a severe infection after their third injection following 15 years without one. Several members emphasized practical prevention strategies, including drinking 2 to 3 quarts of water daily, avoiding caffeine (particularly coffee), and staying mindful that dehydration can make infections more likely. A recurring theme was awareness that urinary tract infections are listed as a possible side effect of Prolia, and that the medication may affect the immune system, making vigilance and hydration even more important.

I am on Prolia - I understand it can have an effect on the immune system.

I don't have any trouble with that but I do seem to go potty more often. I drink 2 quarts of water a day most days. They suggest drinking 2 to 3 quarts a dsy. No caffeine. I only drink decaf tea and I don't drink coffee. I don't eat chocolate except for occasional cup of hot chocolate when I am cold. Urinary tract infections is a possible side effect.

I take Prolia injections. I’ve not had a bladder infection so far since taking the injection. Helen is right. Drink lots of water. I quit drinking coffee.

Do you drink plenty of water? Coffee tends to dehydrate and then it’s easier to get a UTI! Sorry have no knowledge of prolia.
