I received first Prolia May 8. The second one November 6. After the first one I ached all over, ese my back. I had just begun to get my energy back from radiation and chemo. Such a disappointment. I ached more than I did with radiation. I mostly laid around on the couch with heating pad. Bought a tens unit for the pain but after reading instructions I discovered you are not suppose to use tens if you have cancer (and I still do). Electric impulses can make cancer grow. I was depressed after taking the shot. I think shot caused it doctor doesn't think so. Maybe I was just depressed because I felt so bad. It made .e moody and grumpy for a couple weeks and gave me a rash on the left arm which itched badly. I thought the rash was from the shot but since no one mentioned a possible rash and I had been weeding flowers I thought it possibly might be poison oak. Took a whike but rash finally went away. After the second shot I had mood swings for a few days but not too bad . Two days after second shot I began to itch todeath and two days later got bad rash which lasted over two .onths and got severe. Finally was sent to a dermatologist. Ointment he prescribed got rid of rash but can only use for 14 days in a row and eachtime I quit using it the rash cones back in a few days. When I can start using ointment again it goes away. The back of my hands ache, I broke a tooth shortly after first shot and had to have it pulled. Not sure if it's related or not. My hair was coming back in before first shot but then stopped growing and started getting thinner. I can tell by all the hair each time I comb my hair. My skin and hair get really dry.

What sort of problems did you have with prolia? How long were you on it?
What option did you decide?

I was told that I had a choice of prolia shot or prolia infusion. I asked about a pill like my mother took (Evista). Was told that since my breast cancer is hormone sensitive I could not take an oral med. After I told them I will never, never take another Prolia they said there was another infusion I could try but I do rem the name. Not sure I want to try an infusion at all. Having enough trouble with this shot. Infusions are stronger. I have about deci that maybe what I am having is not side effects but maybe I am allergic to the blame shot.
