Hi DeeBee, just saw you question, I am off Prolia now, I had been on it since 2015 and I’ve had 3 fractures in the last 2 yrs so my Endocrinologist had suggested I have an infusion, I spoke to my gp as I wasn’t keen he did a bone density test and my spine, hip had deteriorated so I decided to go ahead with it. I had headaches felt nauseous and flu like symptoms but I’m all good again, I had the infusion last Friday. Hope this finds you well sending gentle hugs. B

Oh, Paula. Thank YOU for your input. From June 17 through Nov 17, 2019, I was on Boniva. My left arm, shoulder, elbow, wrist began subluxing. My elbow locked, causing me to force it into place. My shoulder ached and howled. My wrist snapped. The whole left arm was just coming apart. This is not good, as my right arm is partially paralyzed from Polio and I NEED my left arm. So, the doc said to stop the Boniva and I'm supposed to see a rheumatologist regarding Prolia. Well, I called my only sister who, unbeknownst to me, had been on Prolia for 2 years! She suffered terrible side effects and took herself off the drug. (FYI: She refused to take the Reclast.) Anyway, last year she suffered a stroke and toppled over onto a thickly carpeted bedroom floor, only to shatter her right thigh. I always questioned why her leg would have SHATTERED as opposed to a clean break after a fall on a thick wall-to-wall. SHATTER?!

Anyway, I have decided NOT to have the Prolia and to continue with Vitamin D3, calcium, Vitamin K2, magnesium. My arm is slowly improving. I am icing it twice a day and using a tens unit for further circulation and pain. I will see what the next dexa reveals, but, frankly, the whole thing is scary.

I had my second Prolia injection 2 weeks ago. I had no symptoms the first time but have had some intermittent severe pain this time. Not too bad this week so I am hoping that it doesn't continue. I am due for my bone density scan next month so don't know if is working.
