I Am 62 Years Old, Had A Total Hip Replacement September 2016 It Was Successful But
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

But six months ago I have been getting big pain when I lift leg in and out of the car or getting into bed, basically any time lifting leg up on a certain angle.
The pain is bad and it aches constantly the sugeon diagnosed osteoporosis, I only take pandora osts
Is it nerve pain?
Can anyone help me as I work full time, a lot of driving in and out of the car, or getting any better
Would just like the pain to go away

That's how I felt before they decided I needed a hip replacement. That's all part of this problem as well. The replacement helped completly and really wasn't too bad.

My doctor said it was scare tissue, he told me stretching and a heating pad help. Been doing that for 2 wks and my hip is feeling better

Hi, thank you for reply, mine is only two years ago but pain when lifting that leg to get into the car, especially when you have to hurry and another car coming, or lifting to get into bed, nothing seems to make it go away, it’s been like that for over 6 months
Wish it would go away, I work full time as a property manager, in and out of car and office all day
The hip operation had been very successful up to then, no pain or anything. Then I started driving in heavy traffic everyday for work was when it started

My 1st hip replacement was 25 years ago due to a car accident, someone hit my car going 75 miles and hour, I was at a red light with my foot on the clutch. I was 34 and in pain, hip replacements weren't popular at the time, doctors kept giving me drugs for the pain and shooing me away saying I was too young for a hip replacement. Did my research, finally found a doctor at Hospital of Special surgery, had the operation and was pain free and back to being active. Three years ago I needed a second hip replacement, the replacement eventually wears, but I was living in Florida and selected a doctor there, it hasn't been the same. Don't know if it was the doctor, is it because it was rework, or my age...I have pain some days and need to lift my leg in and out of the car, in the shower when shaving and also bothers me when I am intimate with my husband. Went back to the doctor and he said it was scar tissue and I needed to stretch. I don't know but I'm giving it a shot...

Are you sitting or standing in one position at work as well as driving, maybe you need to do some exercises, walk a little each day, aquacise which I started 15 years ago for osteoarthritis, and had year hip replacements almost 3 years and 2 1/2 years ago. I was in constant pain before I had these done and can't get over how I have hardly any pain these days anywhere. Whether it's because I do Pulmonary rehab exercises which includes all parts of the body I don't know. I used to take codeine fir my pain and Paracetamol 4 times a day, now take them twice a day p, just to keep any small pain at bay. Just take codeine if I Get spasms or over do something I. The garden or heavy shopping, which I try not to do now. Good luck with your hip pain, maybe see a physiotherapist. I don't know where you live Janamohia, maybe you have to pay which isn't an option for you, maybe look up on line some exercises. Xx
