Since I cannot take Calcium, my dr recommended yearly IV treatment for osteoporosis. I’m not certain I want to do this. Has anyone else received these treatments.
You might consider adding supplemental Vitamin K2 to your regime. It acts as a catalyst to calcium and Vitamin D3. Jarrow makes a good one. Vitamin K might be contraindicated if you must also take a blood thinner.
No it’s medication Reclast, once a year for 4-5 years. I’m reluctant because if I have any side effects the medication stays in you for a year. I have IBS and cannot tolerate calcium.
I take magnesium, Vit D, and try to eat foods with high calcium . I’m thinking of getting a trainer and doing resistance training, and exercising more with Yoga.
I have an Aclasta Infusion yearly but this year i have to have a break as Calcium levels are high. It is fantastic. Just an update, I have had to have a couple of teeth removed and the Dentist said they are not sure how long the Aclasta remains in your system and there is a chance of developing Osteochronosis of the jaw so I am hoping the sockets heal ok. The dentist removed 2 teeth and inserted platelets made out of my blood and then stitches. Back to Dentist for a checkup this week. Fingers crossed.
Hi. Thanks so much for your thoughts. I have just been prescribed to have this infusion. Feeling very nervous and worried but I need to make a start. Thanks Sue 😊
Thanks for the info. You answered my question about calcium. I'm taking vitamin d and have just started taking alendronate.
