I only go by my bone density and even though I have been seeing a specialist for the past five years I am not aware of different types of osteo - please explain, thanks

I am type one, I had a hysterectomy when I was 24, both ovaries - instant menopause.

There are two types of osteoporosis:
Type I osteoporosis (postmenopausal osteoporosis) generally develops in women after menopause when the amount of estrogen in the body greatly decreases. ...
Type II osteoporosis (senile osteoporosis) typically happens after the age of 70 and affects women twice as frequently as men.

Hi Tracey, If you are asking about Osteoporosis I and Osteoporosis 2, I would also like to know more about that: mine has just been called "Osteoporosis". Are there different grades? Can anyone help us with details? Thanks.
