I just had an epidural 3 days ago and my doctor doesn't want to do them anymore. I have seen many failed surgeries with patients worse than before and don't want this. I worry that the osteoporosis does not make me a good candidate for this surgery and as a nurse, I know how overconfident doctors can be! Of course, I will get a second opinion. Also, I am moving this weekend to take a job on the beautiful Calif coast that includes room and board!
My fingers are starting to go crooked, I have pain in both index fingers, ring fingers. Also now I have ache in my thumb. Dr said it looks like ostio. They have never tested for anything. I have never had an answer. I am getting lumps on first joints also. Can they do blood test to say what this is? Thank you
I have several compression fractures that have been fixed with Kyphoplasty. I want the best bone help I can get. I take Tymlos/Forteo pharmaceutical grade calcium, vitamin D & k. I really want to take Strontium, but the Tymlos people say I should not. I really need to know if that is true? Thank you!
Hi! My doc has me on Boniva (from which I'm on withdrawal due to side effects) and 600iu calcium + 800iu D3 twice daily. I ALSO take a WEEKLY dose of 50,000mg vitamin D3. My Question is, what about vitamin K2? My reading suggests a need for K2 in order to direct the calcium from soft tissue to the bones. Does anyone else include K2 in their supplement regimen and, if so, how much do you take?
I'm not allowed to take NSAI voltarol ibuprofen etc gel or tablets is there anything I can use that is safe?
I am some what frustrated and cannot fathom living like this another 40 yrs of continuous back pain, if I should live that long. I am asking this because I cannot take pain meds of any sort. My daughters have told me to get CBD oil to help relax and sleep at night. I refused to take Forsamax after doing some research it also doesn’t seem to be the right treatment for me.
Everything I have been told by my medical people says there is no pain with Osteoporosis.
I was diagnosed at 59. Vitamin D level through the floor. I have it in my spine and hips. I have 6 monthly Prolia injection (can only have that for max 5 years). I do take collagen and exercise every day.
