I’m looking for feedback regarding medications: Forteo/Tymlos, Prolia or Reclast.

I’ve had multiple prophylactic surgeries to prevent cancer (family history is strong).
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis which my doctor considers “severe”, especially for my age (45).
She is recommending I begin Forteo/Tymlos, Prolia or Reclast in that order (she feels oral meds are second to injection/infusion due to absorption).
I’m concerned about cancer risk (although the doc says there is no concern for humans)… read more

What kind of results has anyone had with taking Prolia.

What kind of results has anyone had with taking Prolia.

My doctor wants me to take Prolia injections. I have to have root canals completed and wait 3 months before I can start. I know someone who took Prolia and has lost teeth because of it. I'm concerned about that and other possible side effects.

If you go to Prolia.com, there are references to jaw problems. Look under Side Effects, but also Important Safety Information.

How did you go about finding a doctor when you were diagnosed with osteoporosis?

How did you go about finding a doctor when you were diagnosed with osteoporosis?

I was just diagnosed. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and my primary care doctor suggested I go to my rheumatologist. I spoke with my rheumatologist and will see him next week. I’m concerned that if he doesn’t specialize in working with people dealing with osteoporosis, I may miss out on the most effective treatments.

Prolia

Prolia

Has anyone stopped having prolia needle after only one?
Despite having dental clearance I had needle 4 mths after 2 teeth extractions. My bite still feels strange and gum on that side of mouth sensitive! I had dentist check again and said all ok with teeth. The remaining tooth I want to save is still a little loose.
I’m nervous having another injection due in June!

Neck Pain and Headaches with Osteporosis

Neck Pain and Headaches with Osteporosis

My neck seems to be getting sorer and sorer and the inner noises it makes when I move my head worse and worse - crunch, crackle, crack and like someone walking on a stone pathway. I have a heachache that never ends - day or night - almost feels like a permanent hangover. Does anyone else have this problem?
Doctors are focusing on the compression fractures in my back, sacrum and thigh and my neck is always brushed off ...
