My calcium and parathyroid levels are very high. I broke 2 ribs ( have no idea how). Mayo did ultrasound and wait and see. I had sepsis 2 years ago and almost died. I’m not a candidate for surgery

My mother had her hyper parathyroid had to be removed! This just reminded me! It is something that should be looked into!! 👍

My calcium is very high and not being absorbed in my bones either. I’m back at the Mayo first week of November and they’re doing a nuclear bone scan. Lots of labs too. After almost dying from sepsis - I’m at more risk for getting it a second time - so they want to avoid surgery

My sister is to have surgery for her parathyroid. Her parathyroid caused a very high calcium level which also contributed to her having so many kidney stones. I think her doctor mentioned that. I don’t think her calcium was being absorbed in her bones. Are you having surgery to remove yours?

I have read if you have the parathyroid taken out, your bones will get better.
