Osteoporosis Followup Treatment
A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis about 2 years ago in my knees and hip. I have had gone to a bone and joint doctor at that time. He gave me a cortisone shot which helped with the knee pain. The second cortisone shot a few months later did nothing. That doctor told me to come back if the pain does not improve. (I never went back as of now)....Since diagnosis, my gynecologist gave me 2 prolia shots 6 months apart. My pain is so much better than the initial diagnosis when at that time I could… read more

Below - 2.5 is Osteopenia. - 2.5 and higher minus number is Osteoporosis. So it’s only borderline Osteoporosis at one site! The rest is just Osteopenia! Get another scan and you will see any changes! Hugs

Thank you Evelyn. I only had those 2 shots and since the 2nd one never helped I did not bother to get more. I haven't been back to the doctor for over a year. My pain is not too bad unless I try to walk to far or sleep in a bad position. I got one of those memory foam toppers for my bed and it helps so much ! I usually don't wake up with pain, but when I sleep in our spare bedroom which does not have the topper my knee aches and aches. I think the memory foam really helps.

I really dont understand doctor given cortisone shots look it up and see what I am talking about Because years ago one doctor refused to help me with that shot so he sent me to the Pain clinic where he didn't know but they treat everyone there with cortisone so that doctor said he couldn't give that my bones are really bad (he saw the Bone density results ) He said he was going to talk to the DR that sent me he was socked I was there on a referral:
So you see getting cortisone can cause bone loss: take care if u thing the doctor is wrong go see someone else: PS/That's my rant for today lol

What was your DEXA scan result two years ago? Have you had another one recently? You should have one every two years. What were/ are your T scores? If you don’t know insist on a print out!
My Osteoporosis is now only Osteopenia.
Two Reclast infusions, lots of vitamins and minerals, good diet, Kefir, blackstrap molasses, Greek yogurt, lots of exercise including hydrotherapy!
It’s hard work getting stronger but it can be done! Hugs
