I have been on Prolia for two years; I have edema in my lower legs and feet. I feel it is from Prolia; I just went to a new doctor, and she said no one has ever reported that. As I was leaving, she told me to find that information. So, I am contacting anyone with information on that side effect.

I have found info about osteoporosis causing hair loss for some people.
My question is - does it cause you to have an itchy scalp - not dandruff. Just a very itch scalp that feels tight when you scratch.
Just checking to see if there is anyone else out there with this.
Thanks and let’s all have a great day!
Hair is more prone to breaking with the same lack of vits/minerals as causes osteoporosis ... a lot of us are finding that a "hair/skin/nails" supplement is very helpful. Can contain silica, selenium… read more
I have osteopenia of more than 10 years duration. My MD would like me to take Fosamax. I have bad teeth--I receive regular dental care and floss and brush with prescription strength fluoride toothpaste like I'm supposed to, but I have numerous crowns/fillings, 4 implants, I've had several root canals and broken teeth. I'm wondering what besides Prolia or biphosphanates I could take. I am afraid of osteonecrosis of the jaw--I'm also afraid of breaking a hip. I take calcium and Vit D supplements… read more

I am 76 and have been on different meds for osteoporosis since age 50. Each was changed after 5 years
I have been on Prolia 4.5 years now, and it has been suggested that 5 years is enough, otherwise one can develop rebound fractures. I tolerate it well, have Dexa scans every 2 years and for the first time this particular med has increased my bone density
I have had no fractures, but have lost nearly 2 inches in height.
Should I take steps to have the injection? Dr says there is no rush.

I am considering Invisalign to fix my teeth, which are starting to crowd and overlap in front. I am concerned about whether this might fracture my teeth or jaw.
Has anyone has orthodontics? What was your experience?
I am not taking any medications for my osteoporosis. I tried strontium (supplement) for a very short period of time when I was first diagnosed two years ago.
Thank you, Deborah! I do have my DEXA from two years ago. And my dentist has taken x-rays. Your response is very encouraging! Thank you!
My healthcare provider recommends I consider one of the injection osteo meds. What I have read about these two medicines mentioned above really scares me. Has anyone had these injections, and if so, would you share your experience. Thanks. .
Read my post on Prolia! Be aware!!
